Yo people, i hope all is blessed!!!
So here it goes every no and again i will be giving my thoughts on the latest tracks!
I heard it after seeing a lot of negative comments and response from social medias and i was trying to keep an open mind before i listened to it myself.
First impression from the hook it was going to be more of a deep track, especially from the opening of a insanely well sung hook from Beyonce, it set the scene well for the opening of the track.
One of my pet hates about Eminem is one of his new style voices / Flows, its sort of quite monotone sound? Its kinda distracting and unfortunatley he went with this type the whole track. One thing i do like about the track is the content. He explains his struggle with keeping relevant in this ever changing Industry and also talks about the negative comments on his current career.
I sort of feel sorry for him but at the same time i feel that he is not an artist i would regularly play now on a Spotify playlist to be honest i only remember banging Eminem in the early days when i was around 14 lool!! This sort of indicates how long he has actually been around for and we can not forget he has sold millions of records for a reason.
The word play was good but i can't help feel like he throws random metaphors in that make no relevance to what he is trying to get across in this one. I think someone who has the amazing wordplay and pen game as Eminen always has pressure to deliver this type of wordplay but sometimes overcomplicating when you can effectively deliver the same point quicker is actually a downside to lyricism.
So i like the track but it does not blow me away, i definitely get what he's trying to say but i have heard a lot more emotional rap pieces that tell stories in a much more effective way. Still to be releasing another 9th album in this quickly changing industry shows how he still has a crazy fanbase that will support and buy his music still.
So i hope Eminem can come with a good album, but i feel that a lot of his supporters are supporting his legacy rather than the current music he is making.
So i am hoping Em wows me with his next work and proves me wrong on the last statement!
I would like to hear your thoughts on this review so drop me a line people, Love for reading!!
